Lol, actually Zero is great.

But my reason for choosing X is that X is faithful and dedicated to righteousness while X has no girlfriends. That makes him cooler, and Capcom decides not to give X any love interest. Remember when Zero is acquinted with Iris at X4? X was instead betrayed by Double... Poor X...

Well finish the game with Zero, and you will see Iris is much better in X4, just because of a single event near the end of the game

Iris and Colonel seems to be alternated in timeline. They're gone at X5.
